- Go to the Payroll Items tab
- Click Add New
- Enter a name to use on the payslips
- Enter a name in English.
- Description – describe payroll items for internal information
- Click Next
- Choose payroll items type, for example, “Annual Salary.”
- Click Next
- Check Semimonthly Payment if this payroll item will be paid to employees twice per month.
- Select Chart Of Account (we use Other Current Asset types in QuickBooks Online).
- Click Next
- Select Chart of Account to track this payroll item expense, for example, “66000 Payroll Expense.“
- Click Save & Close
